The simple and stylish A110 'Hand Grenade' lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto for the building of the Finnish Engineers' Association in 1952. The same model was used in the Council Chamber of Säynätsalo Town Hall.
Made from a metal frame and incorporating resin materials the pendant is constructed with great care to ensure the perfect balance of weight and texture. A brass ring is attached near the bottom of the piece and acts as a reflective force allowing the light to be focussed and concentrated. A timeless piece which is available in both black and white and can be found in restaurants, bars, cafes and designer homes all around the work.
