The Flos 2097 Chandelier by Gino Sarfatti was originally commissioned by Arteluce back in 1958. Challenging the definition of contemporary lighting. this mid-century modern light was an ultra-modern light fixture back in 60’s and remains today an iconic chandelier still in great demand. It is supported by one central round chrome pole, branching out to create a tree-shaped sculpture. Each bulb is connected gracefully to exposed wiring. The surface of the fitting is finished in a mirror-like polished chrome finish which adds an extra element of shine to the light. The designer, Gino Sarfatti began his career as an engineer and designer, however, since then, the insightful combination quickly became a force to recognise within the Italian architectural circle. Gino Sarfatti continued on to design hundreds of light fittings and was credited as the first person to use the halogen bulb in lighting designs in 1971. The Flos 2097 Chandelier by Gino Sarfatti is available in the 30 light polished gold and silver variations. However, the 50 Light and polished gold option are currently available as a pre-order only item.
